Immaculate and cosy units with surprisingly modern bathroom, a larger bed, as for instance, and efficient staff.

The room was well presented and comfortable. The triple room provided adequate sleeping arrangements for the three of us. Good facilities and lovely full English breakfast included.
Due to wedding reception on the Saturday the restaurant wasn't available to other guests. However from the internet reviews I had read of the hotel it was not a surprise. It did not spoil our break we just went to a restaurant down the road.

Clearly a pleasant hotel in a brilliant and handy location near to the theatre we were going to. Based very close to the Richmond restaurant, sited at the top of the very picturesque Fareham high street, and Portsmouth.

The family room we had was a good size for myself, my husband and our two children, we were able to order warm milk for the children at bedtime. We were able to have our breakfast earlier than normal and delivered to our room as we had to catch the ferry from portsmouth. There was a good selection of items available for breakfast. The garden area outside was a good place for the children to run around before bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only about 10 minutes from portsmouth so a good place to stay if you are catching a ferry.
The main restaurant was not open during our stay as there was a function on. We were able to order food at the bar which we ate outside however there was a long wait when we ordered our desserts as the staff forgot about them. The choices on the bar menu were limited with no healthy or childrens options available. The food in the bar and the restaurant is quite expensive. The hotel car park is very small and you may have trouble parking if there is a function on or the hotel is busy. The decor of the rooms is quite dated with sheets and blankets on the beds.

Although so close to the centre if Fareham it felt that you were in the countryside with the well kept garden, trees and of course the chickens.

Great location near to good range of bars & restaurants, and a supermarket within short driving distance. Communication between hotel staff was very good - we had an issue with our room and spoke to 3 or 4 different staff members but didn't have to explain each time.
The rooms were very noisy - we could hear everything next to and above us. The rooms were also very basic & more like a chain hotel.

Charming atmosphere and good meals
The dining experience was a highlight, especially the tasty meals served with beautiful presentation. The gardens were picturesque and offered a serene space to unwind. The shower in my room could use some improvement, as it didn't operate effectively, a bit of a letdown.
